New York runway is very rewarding for Holliday Model Agency
of Selinsgrove

The Holliday Model Agency was honored at the Modeling Association of America International’s 48th Annual Convention that was held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City on March 22nd-27th.

The M.A.A.I. convention, the only not-for-profit modeling and talent convention, featured models, actors and performing talent, males and females of all ages, sizes and ethnicities from the United States, Guam, Greece, Canada, Puerto Rico and other areas around the world.

Four models from the Holliday Model Agency of Selinsgrove went to the competition and brought home 24 awards and 2 scholarships.

Agency Director Doris Holliday-Dorsa announced the following modeling and acting awards presented to her students during the competition:
- Alexandra Ercole, age 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Ercole of Lewisburg,
won 6 awards and a Fashion Art Scholarship from the modeling association.
- Jordan Carr, age 12, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Carr of Northumberland,
won 5 awards.
- Alyssa Bastian, age 12, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Bastian of Milton, won
5 awards.
- Shannon Keiser, age 11, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richie Keiser of Milton,
won 7 awards and a children’s scholarship to Biz Kids N.Y.

The four models also won 2nd Runner Up in World Group Runway.

The Grand Awards were presented by the following actors: Amanda Lynch (Carmen) of The Departed, Brandon Buddy (Cole Thornhart) of One Life to Live, Brittany Underwood (Langston Wilde) of One Life To Live, Forbes March (Nash Brennan) of One Life To Live, Marcy Rylan (Lizzie Spaulding) of The Guiding Light, and Samantha Mecouch, 2007 M.A.A.I. Overall Petite Model. Richard Bey of the Richard Bey Show served as Emcee for the evening. He was joined by Valencia Yearwood of The Lion King.

Nina Bowersox of Mifflinburg, a model with Holliday Model Agency, came into the Waldorf Astoria on Tuesday, March 25th, to present honorary awards to the models and actors. Nina began her career with Holliday Model Agency in 1998. She is currently on hold for America’s Next Top Model Cycle 11.

Doris Holliday-Dorsa was recently elected 1st Vice President of the Modeling Association of America International.

Currently, Ms. Holliday-Dorsa is in the process of training and preparing models, actors and performing talent for the next not-for-profit M.A.A.I. convention at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City in the Spring of 2009.
